My Story

I entered this world with a healthy dose of fire in my belly and love in my heart. I struggled with traditional learning and was labeled learning disabled. This sat heavy in my heart. My solace came from time in nature and moving my body freely. I enjoyed sports and considered myself an athlete, I loved the rush and clarity movement gave me.

Life happened. I witnessed the second plane hit on September 11th, everything I had suppressed rose to the surface. I returned to Vermont’s nurturing embrace and began my healing process. Mary Oliver and Pema Chödrön’s language softened my heart. I ran my first marathon, quit my corporate job and found fulfillment in working to help people live happier healthier lives through empowering them with the best running shoe for their needs at Skirack, in Burlington VT.

I explored the Art of Being Human through teachings of Shambhala meditation and sweat out years of tension and regrets in Bikram classes. I ran a few more marathons and spent many a miles tapping into my joy riding the hills of Vermont on my road and mountain bike. Yet, I yearned for more!

A personal development program, Landmark Education, gave me the tools to create a new possibility for my life. I made a conscious choice to head West and called it my Freedom tour. The mantra “from a place of joy” arose from my being and I followed it to Carbondale, Colorado. Warmed by Mt. Sopris sweet glow, I settled in and wove myself into our vibrant and magical community. And met the love of my life!!

Transformed by my 5 Gems Yoga Teacher training, I started teaching at Kula Yoga On Main, a sweet studio that deeply values community and continues to holds space for my growth and evolution, as a yoga teacher. I became a PT Aide at SPORT PT, a nurturing rehab environment that taught me the importance of creating a relationship with the muscles that needed a little bit more coaxing. Bit by the movement bug, I became a NASM personal trainer and joined the TAC Fitness team, a high level training facility focused on coaching athletes to perform at their best through endurance, power and strength training. I joined the team to serve as a functional movement trainer.

Still, I longed for a deeper relationship with my body. I wanted to understand the inside of movement. I enrolled in Intelligent Motion Training course that has since evolved into IMSomatics with teacher Kaila June Keliikuli. I learned how to tend to my body and calm my nervous system through movement.

Little did I know, these practices would serves as my medicine after a car accident just a few months later left me feeling disconnected, depleted and detached from my body, heart, soul and mind. These gentle and intuitive movement practices taught me how to slow down,  deeply listen to my body’s intrinsic wisdom, move at a healing pace, transforming my life.

I am a life long learner and love sharing the knowledge I have gained through listening to my body’s inner wisdom. Working with me is a co-creative process that is defined by your goals, needs and learning style.

I’d be honored to be your guide.
